Dr. Kim Holzman

CCRT, CVPP, VSMT, CVAT, Fear Free Certified Professional

Dr. Holzman was born knowing she wanted to be a veterinarian. At 7 years of age, she was acting as a midwife to her pet guppies, and at 16 had her first job in a vet clinic. She has never looked back!

After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2005, she returned to Ottawa to work in a couple of small animal practices, and joined Cedarview Animal Hospital in November of 2012. Since then, she has obtained certifications in Pain Management, Canine Rehabilitation Therapy, Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (animal chiropractics) and most recently Veterinary Acupuncture. Dr. Holzman takes great personal and professional pride in going that extra mile to help her clients keep their pets healthy and happy. She brings to Cedarview her great enthusiasm for life and a goofy sense of humor, but also takes her job very seriously.

Dr. Holzman has been fortunate enough to be able to extensively pursue two other passions of hers – travel and volunteerism. She has travelled extensively through Europe, Peru, Central America and Asia. She has worked with alpacas, llamas, sheep and guinea pigs in Peru, and has spayed and neutered cats and dogs in Thailand and Northern India.

Dr Holzman challenges herself regularly in many different ways – she travelled alone to India and South East Asia, has worked with the homeless, spent a year studying fungus (yes, it’s true!), and has participated in triathlons, yoga classes and half -marathons. She is also an avid reader of fiction and a very enthusiastic gardener.

She currently shares her life with her husband Mat, their young son, an ancient pug, a Labrador retriever (a career change dog from the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind), 4 cats, fish and several chickens.
