Bringing a dog to the United States
-
Beginning August 1st, 2024, there will be new entry rules for dogs entering the United States of America as set forth by the CDC. Please read the information on this page carefully if you plan to travel to the US with your dog.
-
The CDC regulations cover ALL dogs entering the United States, including puppies (excluding those under the age of 6 months), working dogs, service animals, and dogs that reside in the United States.
-
The CDC requires that a Dog Import Form be completed prior to travel. You can either print or show this form on your phone at the border. Book an appointment with your primary care veterinarian if your dog requires a rabies vaccination or microchip. A health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian is not required at this time.
